Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Piping Designer to join our team at Bechtel. As a Piping Designer, you will play a critical role in planning, developing, and reviewing Plant Design & Piping (PD&P) work, producing drawings and documentation, and preparing design estimates for a project.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, develop, and coordinate design work within a small-size PD&P design work group on projects of medium size or assignments in support of global business unit.
  • Produce drawings and documentation in accordance with established design and scope, including design of earthwork, drainage, road design, foundation, and steel detailing.
  • Coordinate and interface with the day-to-day technical work of PD&P engineers, scientists, specialists, designers, and drafters.
  • Communicate complex technical issues and recommend solutions to upper management.
  • Facilitate technical discussions with third parties (client, suppliers, regulators).
  • Prepare or oversee the preparation of PD&P design estimates and work plan in accordance with project scope, schedule, and budget, and manage implementation and performance accordingly.
Requirements
  • 2-14 years of relevant work experience.
  • Sound knowledge of design and drafting techniques, engineering drawings, graphic arts, reading of drawings, and reproduction methods used by the discipline.
  • Experience with multi-discipline interface management and global 3D model oversight.
  • Expertise in reading, interpreting, and using related documents and drawings prepared by other project groups.
  • Knowledge of the application of engineering and construction materials related to design responsibilities.
  • Extensive experience in design and drafting, including demonstrated expertise in a lead role or recognized courses in the directing of personnel.
