Wood is seeking a highly skilled Senior Piping Designer to join its Minerals & Metals business in Brisbane. This is a permanent or contract opportunity for a full-time or part-time role.

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing the future of mining, providing global expertise delivered locally. They will support clients of all sizes, sharing a passion for driving forward minerals and metals projects that are critical to our future and delivering them safely, cost-efficiently, and responsibly as we strive for net zero.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Tertiary qualified in Engineering/Drafting
  • Minimum of 8 years design drafting experience
  • Strong knowledge in applying relevant industry design practices and key national and international standards and codes
  • Thorough knowledge of equipment layout development and piping layout design
  • Experience working in Brownfield mineral processing plants desirable
  • Hands-on experience with Bentley OpenPlant 3D design and drafting software
  • Ability to deliver best practice plant/piping design, with emphasis on cost-effective engineering
  • Flexible approach and able to work under pressure with a can-do attitude
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Possess good interpersonal skills with sound written and oral communication skills
