We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our Legal Services team as a Director.

This is a permanent opportunity that offers the chance to deliver independent, strategic legal advice on a diverse range of matters. As a Director, you will work closely with the General Counsel to provide expert guidance and support to the Department.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in legislation and public administration frameworks, and will be able to apply this knowledge to drive business outcomes. You will also have excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate complex ideas effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality, strategic legal advice to support business decision-making
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, colleagues, and external partners
  • Mentor and develop the skills of junior lawyers to ensure they have the necessary expertise to perform their roles effectively
Requirements
  • Degree in law from a recognized tertiary institution
  • Admission or eligibility for immediate admission as a legal practitioner in Queensland
  • At least 5 years' experience in a leadership role, with a proven track record of success in driving business outcomes
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with others
