Mechanical, Electrical and Public Health Quantity Surveyor

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical, Electrical and Public Health (MEP) Quantity Surveyor to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cost Management:

    • Develop and maintain accurate cost plans, feasibility studies and detailed estimates for MEP services across various project stages.

  • Procurement:

    • Provide expert advice on procurement strategies, prepare tender documentation and evaluate bids from M&E contractors.

  • Contract Administration:

    • Administer M&E contracts, including valuation of variations, interim payments and final accounts.

  • Cost Control & Reporting:

    • Monitor and control project costs, track expenditure and provide comprehensive cost reports and forecasts to clients.

  • Risk Management:

    • Identify and assess commercial risks related to MEP installations and advise on mitigation strategies.

  • Value Engineering:

    • Proactively identify value engineering opportunities to optimize cost without compromising quality or performance.

  • Client Liaison:

    • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, design teams and contractors, providing expert commercial advice.
Requirements:

  • Experience:

    • Demonstrable experience as an MEP Quantity Surveyor within a construction consultancy or a large M&E contractor in Australia.

  • Technical Knowledge:

    • A strong understanding of mechanical, electrical and public health systems and their associated costs.

  • Commercial Acumen:

    • Excellent analytical, numerical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.

  • Contractual Expertise:

    • Solid knowledge of standard forms of contract relevant to building services in the Australian market.

  • Communication:

    • Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of presenting complex information clearly to diverse stakeholders.

  • Qualifications:

    • A relevant degree in Quantity Surveying, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Building Services or a related field. Professional accreditation is highly desirable.
