Health and Physical Education Teacher Opportunity:

Job Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and passionate Health and Physical Education Teacher to join our Junior School (Prep – Year 6) team.

The successful candidate will play a crucial role in shaping the physical well-being and healthy habits of our students through engaging and age-appropriate health and physical education classes.

Key responsibilities include designing, implementing, and regularly updating comprehensive health and physical education curriculum in alignment with the Australian curriculum standards.

  • Teaching and Planning:

Assess students' progress, provide constructive feedback, and ensure alignment with the Australian curriculum standards and Christian values.

  • Organise and supervise sports activities and events, focusing on character development and spiritual growth.
  • Integrate Biblical principles and a Christian worldview into the curriculum, fostering spiritual and moral development among students.
  • Uphold College Values: Demonstrate a strong commitment to upholding the values and ethos of the college, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Classroom Management: Maintain a well-organised and positive classroom environment conducive to learning, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all students.
  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and the broader school community to support the holistic development of students.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor degree in Health and Physical Education, Primary Education, or a related field (with teaching qualifications).
  • Experience teaching primary school students, preferably in an Australian Curriculum based setting.
  • Ability to teach from a Biblical perspective and integrate Christian values into teaching practices.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to professional development and continuous learning.
  • Qualification as a registered teacher and current registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching.
