Powerline Worker Job Description

Maintain and construct SA Power Networks distribution assets.

The team is responsible for maintaining and constructing SA Power Networks distribution assets, including live low voltage maintenance and construction, high voltage switching, and live line tree trimming.

Key tasks include:

  • Constructing and maintaining SA Power Networks distribution assets.
  • Performing live low voltage maintenance and construction.
  • Executing high voltage switching operations.

Working hours are 72 hours per fortnight with one rostered day off. Overtime is paid at double time, and availability duties may be required. Most work takes place in Adelaide, but occasional travel may be necessary. This role will be based out of the St Marys depot.

Candidates should possess a strong commitment to working safely, ability to learn new skills, and adaptability to changes in standards, systems, and technologies.

Essential requirements include a current SA Electrical Workers Licence for Distribution work, a current drivers' licence, and HV/LV switching experience is highly desirable.
