Community Development Professional

Job Description: We are seeking a skilled Community Development Professional to join our team in Toowoomba. As a key link between individuals with disability, the National Disability Insurance Agency and the community, you will play a vital role in delivering programs that promote independence and empowerment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • BUILDING CAPACITY: Develop and deliver capacity building programs for individuals, families and carers to identify their goals, strengths and needs, to plan for their future based on person-centred principles.
  • PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT: Develop and monitor participant plans to ensure meaningful change is achieved while building and maintaining a current working knowledge of local community supports and services.
  • STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT: Develop and strengthen relationships with key stakeholders including First Nations communities, culturally and linguistically diverse & LGBTQIA+ communities, community organisations, mainstream community and health service organisations and local governments.
  • ADMINISTRATION: Maintain appropriate administrative records utilising the NDIS data system in a timely manner.
  • OPERATIONAL SUPPORT: Undertake the day-to-day operations of the role in a way that promotes independence, empowerment and involvement of persons with disability both in office and out in the community.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications in Disability, Community Development, Education, Human Services or similar.
  • High-level communication skills (both written and verbal) with the ability to build rapport quickly and adapt skills according to the audience or target group involved.
