About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Health and Safety Manager to join our team at AngloGold Ashanti. As a key member of our sustainability team, you will be responsible for providing expertise and oversight to all aspects of workplace health and safety functions, including security, training, and sustainability systems and compliance.

This role requires strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to coach site leaders and ensure compliance with corporate and certification standards. You will also be responsible for ensuring employees are properly trained and competent in their roles, which is essential for maintaining safety, efficiency, and compliance with regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive the design and development of work and project plans to bolster regional sustainability strategies, while also tackling governance and compliance risks.
  • Align regional and operational approaches to enhance sustainability management systems, policies, and procedures to meet corporate and certification standards.
  • Coach site leaders to uphold HS systems and processes and ensure compliance with corporate and certification standards.
  • Ensure employees are properly trained and competent in their roles, which is essential for maintaining safety, efficiency, and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Develop and implement the AGAA security risk management system to ensure a secure environment at our Australian operations and Perth office.
About You

We are looking for a candidate with a strong commitment to leading a safe work culture. You will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Safety and Environment or equivalent experience.
  • 5 years of leadership experience in leading multi-facet health-related teams.
  • Postgraduate Safety and Environment qualifications preferred.
  • 10 years of experience in Mining/Heavy Industry-related fields.
  • Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise with people at all levels within the organisation.
  • Written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to obtain a National Police Clearance.
  • Existing and ongoing valid Australian working rights (Mandatory).
