About the Role

The Maintenance Coordinator provides strategic planning and integration of all internal and external activities affecting the maintenance and support of local ATM systems and facilities. This role involves providing in-depth technical advice to senior personnel and mentoring junior technicians on complex issues with Aviation Support Systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Producing maintenance forecasts and associated works plans.
  • Producing and maintaining the Unit Maintenance Plan.
  • Allocation of tasks to Maintenance Supervisors.
  • Coordination of external maintenance activities and agencies.
  • Maintenance brief preparation and delivery.
  • System serviceability and availability reporting.
  • Communicating with Operations personnel.
  • Maintenance Deviation, Special Technical Instruction, Modification, and Deferred Defect.
  • Assurance of Configuration Management.
  • Scheduling of Compliance and Assurance tasks.
  • Maintenance flight staff leave management (approval).
  • Individual Authorisation Plan management.

About Our Team

The 453 Squadron Maintenance Team in East Sale delivers critical support to Air Traffic Control operations by maintaining and managing Communication, Navigation, and Surveillance equipment systems. These systems include radar, radios, navigation aids, and communication network systems in support of Defence and Civilian ATC.

  • Possess excellent organisation and problem-solving skills as the role involves progressing numerous tasks concurrently.
  • Be a confident decision maker and able to communicate clearly and concisely in written and verbal formats.
  • Be able to work in a highly regulated environment and apply Air Navigation Service Provider regulations and procedures appropriately.
  • Be able to work both as an individual and as a part of a larger team and organisation.
  • Be able to provide advice on complex technical problems.
  • Be able to apply logical fault-finding skills to complex technical problems.
  • Be able to mentor more junior technicians and develop their trade knowledge.
  • Be self-motivated and professional.
  • Be competent utilising IT equipment and the Microsoft Office suite of products.
