About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Officer to join our team at St Basil's NSW/ACT, providing maintenance support to our facilities. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities, including Residential Aged Care, Independent Living Residents, and General Manager.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the maintenance program for our facilities, ensuring timely and effective maintenance services.
  • Manage contractors and external trades, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Perform reactive and programmed maintenance tasks, including minor building works and major projects.
  • Assist in maintaining preventative maintenance programs, ensuring equipment and facilities are in good working order.
  • Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety (WHS) obligations, including risk assessments and incident reporting.
  • Seek multiple quotes for works and assess scopes, ensuring value for money.
  • Issue purchase orders and maintain accurate record-keeping using our asset management software.
Requirements
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively manage technicians and trades.
  • Ability to independently manage property maintenance tasks, with a willingness to take instructions and demonstrate good judgment.
  • Good computer literacy, with experience using asset management software.
  • Receptive to feedback, with a drive for continuous personal development.
  • Familiarity with building maintenance services, including Australian health and safety standards.
  • Previous experience in a similar role, with a trade background and formal certificate or tertiary qualifications highly desirable.
