About the Role
We are seeking an exceptional researcher and leader to join our team as the Director of the IPA SME Research Centre. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in generating external research income, thought leadership, and partnership development.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a research strategy aligned with Deakin's strategic objectives
- Cultivate and maintain partnerships with industry stakeholders, professional bodies, and other external partners
- Lead a team of researchers and academics to advance SME-related research and knowledge
- Secure external research funding to support the Centre's activities
- Represent Deakin at national and international forums related to SME research and innovation
Requirements
- PhD in a relevant field (e.g., business, economics, innovation studies)
- Proven experience in leading research teams and securing external research funding
- Demonstrated expertise in SME research and innovation
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A strong network of industry and academic contacts
