Key Responsibilities


We are seeking a Technical Director to lead our Materials Technology team in delivering innovative projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for:



  • Supporting a diverse range of clients and projects with a focus on asset condition assessments, durability of steel and concrete infrastructure, and specifying infrastructure repair and corrosion protection.
  • Directing and supervising site investigations involving inspection, durability testing, diagnosis of issues, remediation design, and risk management strategies.
  • Providing technical modeling and design for durability, concrete crack risk assessment, and cathodic protection.
  • Preparing and delivering technical reports, including technical specifications, to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Delivering and being accountable for technical assignments.
  • Undertaking quality assurance activities and providing the final sign-off on technical documentation and reports.
  • Providing technical mentoring and guidance to team members.
  • Contributing to business development and proposal activities to win new projects.

Requirements


The ideal candidate will have:



  • A minimum of 15+ years of relevant experience in design consultancy and a relevant degree in Engineering and/or Science.
  • Chartered Engineer and RPE certification, or progressing towards completion.
  • Proven experience and a sound understanding of current materials technologies as they relate to infrastructure, concrete, steelwork, and timber.
  • Demonstrated experience in asset integrity, inspection, and diagnosis, and remediation strategies of structures.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships.
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Willingsness to travel and work on site when and where required.
