The Role

We are seeking an experienced Urban Designer to lead our team in Brisbane and take on key urban design projects. This role offers significant career development opportunities, autonomy, and the chance to own projects from conception to delivery.

Job Overview:

Project Lead - Urban Design

This is a senior role that requires the ability to develop master plans for subdivisions, conduct site evaluations, and ensure designs comply with planning policies and regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop overall master plans for subdivisions, including lot arrangement, street layout, and integration of amenities.
  • Conduct site evaluations to understand physical, environmental, and social factors influencing the design.
  • Ensure designs comply with local planning policies, zoning regulations, and environmental guidelines.
  • Communicate and collaborate with clients, councils, and community members to incorporate feedback and requirements.
  • Incorporate sustainable features into the design, such as green spaces, water-sensitive designs, and energy-efficient planning.

About You:

  • Circa 5+ years of urban design experience in the local market working on similar projects would be ideal.
  • Strong commercial acumen and a results-driven approach.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Adaptability and resilience in a dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency in design software such as Illustrator, CAD, Sketchup as well as 3D software would be advantageous.

Compensation Package:

The estimated salary for this position is between $90,000 - $120,000 per annum, depending on experience. Additionally, we offer a flexible working environment, work-from-home options, and a supportive team that values innovation and creativity.
