About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Drainage Engineer to join our Roads and Streets team in Perth. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering projects and bringing fresh ideas to enhance the way we work.

You will liaise with internal and external teams to take a lead on coordination activities, and work independently and as part of a team to achieve project goals. Your technical expertise in stormwater management, drainage design, water sensitive urban design, and water quality management will be essential in delivering high-quality projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work without supervision, referring up as necessary, on works associated primarily with drainage design for roads and streets
  • Undertake design and technical consultation in stormwater drainage including WSUD
  • Lead the drainage design on highway and major infrastructure projects, including client liaison, design, technical documentation, reporting, cost estimates, and tender submissions
  • Represent Arup at internal and external meetings and events, and design and deliver events, activities, and projects that impact the business
Requirements
  • Recognised degree in Civil Engineering
  • Detailed knowledge and understanding of civil engineering areas, including Highways and Urban Roads, Stormwater, Water Quality, Erosion and Sediment Control, and Water Quality
  • Knowledge and understanding of civil engineering areas, including Earthworks and Utilities, and their interface with drainage design
  • Membership of relevant professional institutions/professional peer bodies, including Chartered Status from the Institution of Engineers Australia
