Lead Drainage Engineer Opportunity

Arup's Roads and Streets team in Perth is seeking a proactive and driven Lead Drainage Engineer to own and deliver projects, bringing fresh ideas to enhance the way we work.

The successful candidate will be required to liaise with internal and external teams to take a lead on coordination activities, working independently and as part of a team.

We are looking for someone with a strong emphasis on stormwater management, drainage design, water sensitive urban design, and water quality management, with the ability to demonstrate technical excellence and a keen desire to teach and mentor others in our drainage team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work without supervision, referring up as necessary, on works associated primarily with drainage design for roads and streets
  • Undertake design and technical consultation in stormwater drainage, including WSUD
  • Lead the drainage design on highway and major infrastructure projects, including client liaison, design, technical documentation, reporting, cost estimates, and tender submissions
  • Represent Arup at internal and external meetings and events, and may be responsible for designing and delivering events, activities, and projects that impact the business

Requirements:

  • Recognised degree in Civil Engineering
  • Detailed knowledge and understanding of civil engineering areas, including Highways and Urban Roads, Stormwater, Water Quality, Erosion and Sediment Control, and Water Quality
  • Knowledge and understanding of civil engineering areas, particularly their interface with drainage design, including Earthworks and Utilities
  • Membership of relevant professional institutions/professional peer bodies, including Chartered Status from the Institution of Engineers Australia
