About the Role

As a Civil Engineer based in Adelaide, your role will be pivotal in supporting the Estimator and Project Manager throughout various project phases, including tendering, planning, delivery, and finalisation. Your responsibilities will include project coordination, contract review, pricing variations, quality assurance, and safety/environmental management.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Project Coordination: Assist in estimating projects under the guidance of the Estimator and Project Manager.
  2. Collaboration: Collaborate with the project team from tendering to finalisation, including survey control and documentation.
  3. Contract Review: Review project and contractual documentation to ensure accuracy and alignment with tender specifications.
  4. Pricing Variations: Price variations accurately and promptly as directed by the Project Manager.
  5. Construction Time Pathways: Prepare Construction Time Pathways (CTP's) in collaboration with the Construction Supervisor.
  6. Requests for Information: Manage requests for Information (RFI's) and ensure timely responses and documentation.
  7. Subcontractor Coordination: Coordinate subcontractors to ensure timely and high-quality workmanship.
  8. Quality Assurance: Maintain project QA documentation, including Inspection and Test Plans (ITP's).
  9. Quality and Environmental Issues: Monitor quality and environmental issues, taking appropriate action as directed.
  10. Document Control: Ensure proper control and distribution of all drawings and documents per quality standards.
  11. Site Documentation: Record and document all site-related documentation accurately.
  12. Cost Savings and Efficiency Gains: Identify potential cost savings and efficiency gains, providing recommendations.
  13. Project Risk Assessment: Assist in project risk assessment to identify constructability issues.
Safety & Environment Responsibilities:
  1. Compliance: Comply with all safety and environmental regulations and company policies.
  2. Hazard Identification: Identify hazards, conduct risk assessments, and develop safe work method statements.
  3. Personal Protective Equipment: Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and tools for tasks.
  4. Safety Meetings: Participate in toolbox talks and safety meetings as required.
  5. Incident Reporting: Report all safety and environmental incidents immediately.
  6. Emergency Procedures: Follow emergency procedures and instructions in case of emergencies.
Qualifications and Experience:
  1. General Safety Induction: General safety induction card.
  2. Tertiary Qualifications: Tertiary qualifications in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related engineering discipline.
  3. Modern Construction Techniques: Sound understanding of modern construction techniques and project methodologies.
  4. Communication Skills: Strong communication skills (written and oral).
  5. Software Proficiency: Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Project.
  6. Project Coordination and Contract Management: Demonstrated knowledge of project coordination and contract management.
