About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Family Reunification Specialist to join our dynamic team at Challenge Community Services.

As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in facilitating safe and meaningful family time for children and young people in the Permanency Support Program (Out of Home Care) with their families and significant others.

Your expertise will be utilized to mentor children and young people in various settings, providing them with support and guidance to help them navigate complex situations. You will also be responsible for ensuring thorough communication and documentation through written updates and reports.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate safe and meaningful family time for children and young people in the Permanency Support Program (Out of Home Care)
  • Mentor children and young people in various settings, providing support and guidance
  • Ensure thorough communication and documentation through written updates and reports
About You

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess well-developed communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with others. Your written communication skills should include the ability to write reports and complete formal documentation in relevant software programs.

You should also be able to think quickly on your feet and make informed decisions in complex situations, working both individually and as part of a team. Flexibility is essential, as you may be required to work non-standard hours as needed.

In addition, you will need to hold a current NSW Working With Children Check, NDIS Workers Screening Check, and full COVID vaccination status. A driving license is also required.
