The Regional Inspector Petroleum And Gas plays a critical leadership role in the petroleum and gas industry, overseeing and managing a team of senior inspectors. This team is responsible for regulatory activities, incident response, investigations, and standards development.

This role involves leading a geographically dispersed team across Queensland's oil and gas industry. As a representative of RSHQ, you will interact with various stakeholders including employers, employees, industry professionals, and the public.

To excel in this position, you should possess:

  • Demonstrated leadership experience and expertise in the upstream oil and gas industry
  • Relevant trade or tertiary qualifications in engineering, oil and gas, or health and safety
  • Proven ability to manage diverse teams, remote work arrangements, and after-hours rostering
  • A genuine passion for improving health and safety in Queensland's oil and gas industry

The role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to represent RSHQ at various levels within the industry and community.

As a regional inspector, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards. You will also be involved in investigating incidents and developing standards to improve workplace safety.

In addition to your technical expertise, you will need to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with stakeholders, including employers, employees, and the public.
