Head Housekeeper

About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to fill the position of Head Housekeeper. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout our facility.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and prioritize the workload of domestic and laundry staff, ensuring all areas of the home are clean and tidy
  • Create and maintain cleaning regimes for all areas of the care home, including dusting, vacuuming, and washing down of all areas
  • Polish mirrors and furniture as applicable, and dust all ledges, pictures, high areas, and skirting boards
  • Dry cleaning and shampooing of carpets, cleaning of curtains and furniture, emptying and cleaning of waste bins, and restocking of toiletries, soaps, towels, etc.
  • Understand and ensure the implementation of the care home's Health & Safety policy, Emergency and Fire procedures, and COSHH
  • Maintain equipment in a safe, clean, and efficient working condition
  • Prepare housekeeping rotas reflecting the appropriate cleaning times of the care home
  • Supervise and instruct junior and new staff members in all aspects of their work, giving help and guidance where appropriate

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • 1 year experience in housekeeping
  • 1 year experience in supervisory roles
