Creative Urban Designer Position

Urban Design Opportunity:

We are seeking a skilled Senior Landscape Architect to join our design studio in Brisbane. The ideal candidate will have experience coordinating and collaborating with others on urban built form projects using 3D modelling software including Revit.

About the Role:

  • Participate in creative landscape and public realm design; deliver input into multiple projects from concept stage through to design development, production, and documentation.
  • Lead the coordination and collaboration of landscape related items with architects, clients, and engineers.
  • Contribute to financial management of project budgets with Project Lead.
  • Prepare creative and thoughtful design ideas that can be developed further by the team.
  • Apply a strong understanding of landscape architecture and construction processes (phases, deliverables, contract documents, client expectations).
  • Demonstrate a well-developed understanding of relevant Australian Standards, Building Codes, and industry standards as applicable to each project.
  • Attend meetings with clients, consultants, industry representatives, and internal team members to support effective project delivery and client engagement.
  • Support fellow team members in meeting project requirements and contributing to the promotion of the firm and its services to generate business opportunities.

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Landscape Architecture at graduate or postgraduate level.
  • Minimum 4–8 years relevant experience, ideally gained in private practice or local council or government.
  • Communicate graphically at an advanced level using both digital and hand-drawn formats to convey design ideas, concepts, and documentation.
  • Bring an understanding of design and construction principles and apply them in the urban environment on and around built form.
  • Competent and efficient using industry-standard software, including Revit, AutoCAD, Adobe Suite.
  • Experience using SketchUp, Rhino, Lumion, and other 3D modeling software is favourable for this role.
  • Succeed in managing priorities and expectations.
  • Demonstrate adaptability when dealing with problems and changes to priorities.
