Urban Design Drafter Role

Inertia, a leading engineering consultancy, seeks an experienced Urban Design Drafter to join their dynamic team. This role offers the opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects across multiple sectors, from brownfield to greenfield developments.

About the Role:

This position involves creating and revising detailed civil engineering plans using CAD software. The successful candidate will work closely with civil engineers, project managers, and other team members to ensure drawings meet project specifications, design intent, and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Drafting and Design: Create site layouts, grading plans, storm drain and sewer systems, and road designs using CAD software.
  • Collaboration: Work with civil engineers, project managers, and other team members to ensure drawings meet project specifications and industry standards.
  • Documentation: Maintain and organize project files, drawing revisions, and documentation in a clear and accessible manner.
  • Review and Quality Control: Review drawings for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to relevant codes and regulations.

Requirements:
  • Education: A diploma or associate's degree in civil drafting, CAD technology, or a related field.
  • Experience: Proven experience as a civil drafter, with a portfolio of completed projects.
  • Civil Engineering Knowledge: A strong understanding of civil engineering principles, drafting standards, and familiarity with local, state, and federal codes and regulations.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
