The Head of Transfer Agency is a key leadership position responsible for the delivery of high-quality transfer agency services to clients globally, with a focus on Australia and Asia Pacific.
This role will be instrumental in driving business growth and meeting organizational objectives through strategic initiatives and effective management of the transfer agency functional service delivery.
As a senior leader, you will be responsible for leading a team of professionals to deliver quality end-to-end transfer agency services, enhancing the service offering through knowledge of competitors and industry trends, and ensuring regulatory requirements are met.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading a team of professionals to deliver high-quality transfer agency services, including managing relationships with internal stakeholders, such as Client Executives, Product Heads, Technology, and external clients, auditors, legal, and industry participants.
- Enhancing the transfer agency service offering through knowledge of competitors, industry, and regulatory environment, working closely with other senior management to deliver standardized best-practice service models.
- Ensuring regulatory and policy requirements are met from a transfer agency perspective, working closely with the TA senior management and with the 2nd line of defense in region and globally.
- Contributing to the management, strategic planning, and direction of the overall Global and Regional Transfer Agency business.
- Working closely and collaboratively with Product, Technology, and other business partners in the region/globally, developing strategies and overseeing project plans to meet operational goals, participating in business development, including sales pitches.
- Instilling a client focus in the core operation, consistently meeting agreed client service levels, proactively managing and exceeding client expectations, monitoring service level standards, and providing senior management with compliance reporting.
- Identifying, developing, and retaining key talent on behalf of the overall business.
- Managing the performance of direct and matrix reports, recognizing exceptional performance using the full range of supports within the organization.
- Effectively managing a large cross-jurisdictional operational team, embedding a culture of ethics and promoting employee engagement through People Strategy and Operations Excellence training programs.
- Continuously improving STP rates, efficiency/productivity through automation and process reengineering.
- Implementing best-practice processes and controls across locations to achieve high-quality service output.
- Ensuring a robust and appropriate governance oversight model is in place to manage offshore and cross-jurisdictional sites and vendors, as necessary.
- Working closely with each jurisdiction on the management of internal audits or other reviews to a satisfactory conclusion.
- Managing end-to-end operational risk, including strong resiliency and continuity of business plans, as it relates to Transfer Agency activities.
- Sponsoring and working closely with Change Groups (within and outside of TA) to deliver projects in the region on time and within budget, ensuring adherence to internal policy and standards.
- Managing headcount according to budget commitments.
- Actively participating at a senior level at key client meetings, RFPs, sales meetings, Board meetings, etc.
- Monitoring and interpreting management information as well as internal and external benchmarks to assess and communicate the performance of the function.
- Representing Transfer Agency and the Australia site at executive level internally as well as with Clients and Industry-wide.
