About Our Role

This is a volunteer opportunity for individuals 25 years or older to provide emotional and practical support to patients undergoing chemotherapy treatment in our cancer care unit.

Main Responsibilities
  • Offer companionship and listen to patients
  • Assist patients with daily tasks such as making drinks and serving meals
  • Direct patients to other services as needed
Skill Requirements
  • A calm demeanor is necessary
  • Motivation, enthusiasm and good communication skills are essential
  • The ability to work collaboratively within a team and maintain confidentiality is required
Time Commitment

We require a minimum of one shift per week lasting 3-4 hours. This can be on Mondays between 9am and 4pm, Thursdays from 12noon to 4pm, or Fridays between 9am and 4pm.
