Scientist Position

Overview: We are seeking a skilled scientist to join our research team in the Division of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting laboratory experiments, processing and analysing data, and preparing results into reports and manuscripts.

Job Description:

  • Design and conduct laboratory experiments in synthetic biology and/or microbial bioengineering;
  • Process and analyse data from experiments;
  • Prepare results into reports and write manuscripts;

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • PhD in microbiology, synthetic biology, molecular biology or related-field;
  • Advanced technical capability in synthetic biology and/or microbial bioengineering;
  • Ability to independently design, plan and conduct laboratory experiments in a time-efficient manner.

About the Opportunity: Our goal is to understand, treat and prevent infection across the perinatal period (pregnancy and early life). We are looking for a scientist who can develop bioengineering pipelines for Group B Streptococcus and their bacteriophages for exploration as future therapies. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in synthetic biology and/or microbial bioengineering and be able to independently design, plan and conduct laboratory experiments in a time-efficient manner.
