About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Service Engineer - Cloud Networks to join our Secure Network Services team in Group Technology. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, building, managing, optimizing, and supporting high-performance cloud network services and infrastructure for the Westpac Group.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and architecture of public cloud network and security infrastructure patterns, including edge connectivity, scalability, security, and efficiency.
  • Collaboration with business and infrastructure stakeholders to develop new cloud network solutions and ensure alignment with evolving requirements and architectural strategies.
  • Project and initiative delivery, including detailed analysis of new initiative requirements, cost estimation, resource planning, and cross-functional coordination and execution.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving complex, multi-domain networking issues, providing leadership and expertise to the team.
  • Service improvement initiatives, enhancing the operational support and performance of cloud network services.
  • Capacity planning and monitoring, contributing to infrastructure planning, capacity assessments, and performance monitoring, and collaborating with third-party vendors to maintain stability and scalability.
  • Governance and strategy, supporting the development of technology strategies, standards, and governance to ensure alignment with organizational goals.

Requirements
  • Significant IT industry experience, with at least five years in a technical role within a complex IT infrastructure environment.
  • Public cloud expertise, including knowledge of public cloud infrastructure, networking components, and security best practices.
  • Multi-cloud and migration experience, including managing and integrating networks across multiple cloud providers and migrating on-premises networks to cloud environments.
  • Automation and provisioning skills, including experience with provisioning automation using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools.
  • Relevant certifications, such as AWS Solutions Architect, AWS Advanced Networking, Azure Network Engineer Associate, and Cisco certifications.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills, including experience with diagnosing and resolving complex network issues.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present to and influence technical and non-technical stakeholders.
