Position Overview

SGS is seeking a dedicated Occupational Hygienist to enhance our operations in Perth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Executing field evaluations and occupational hygiene assessments
  • Conducting inspections for hazardous substances
  • Assessing indoor and outdoor air quality
  • Drafting technical reports and hazardous management strategies
  • Overseeing health and hygiene-related incidents and investigations into exceedances of industrial hygiene monitoring results, maintaining records, and providing necessary recommendations/actions (Engineering and Administrative controls, PPE management) to ensure a secure and healthy work environment.
  • Monitoring the progress of implementing required controls by managing related Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) within the SGS Incident Management Software.
  • Administering the Global Industrial Hygiene software.

Candidate Profile:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Full membership in the Australian Institute of Occupational Hygienists or a tertiary qualification in chemistry or engineering with provisional AIOH membership, or equivalent competency through an international certification scheme (e.g., Certified Industrial Hygienist).
  • Completion of the AIOH Basic Principles of Occupational Hygiene course or an equivalent program.
  • National Police Clearance.
  • A valid Australian Driving Licence.
