The Role:
This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled Chef to join our team at Arcare Gisborne. As part of our kitchen staff, you will play a vital role in enhancing the overall quality of life for our residents by providing delicious and nutritious meals.
Your Key Responsibilities Will Be:
- Meal Preparation: Responsible for preparing meals according to menus designed by our Head Chef, ensuring they meet the specific dietary needs of our residents.
- Special Diets: Accommodate special dietary requirements, such as texture-modified diets, to cater to the unique health conditions and preferences of our residents.
- Food Safety and Hygiene: Adhere to strict food safety and hygiene standards to prevent foodborne illnesses and maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen environment.
- Quality Control: Monitor the quality of ingredients and finished dishes, ensuring they meet high standards in taste, appearance, and portion sizes.
- Collaboration with Kitchen Staff: Work as part of a team in the kitchen, collaborating with other kitchen staff, to ensure efficient meal preparation and service.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Certificate III or IV in Hospitality (Commercial Cookery)
- Adaptable, passionate, and willingness to learn
- Collaborative and skilled at teamwork
- Friendly and effective communication abilities
