About the Role:

The Material Quality Assurance Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the quality of materials used in the construction of Snowy 2.0, a large-scale pumped hydro scheme in the Snowy Mountains region of NSW. This is a critical role that requires a high level of attention to detail and a strong understanding of quality management systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and monitor all material requirements, received or delivered on site, to ensure compliance with drawings and specifications.
  • Conduct surveillance on construction activities to verify compliance with quality standards.
  • Prepare and monitor a tool (worksheet with macros/hyperlinks) to manage all quality information related to materials.
  • Ensure compliance of all relevant permanent supplies and accompanying documentation.
  • Monitor and manage the required tests (results, frequencies) according to applicable standards and employer's requirements.
  • Review quality test results reports for activities carried out.

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualifications or related discipline, such as a degree in Civil Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
  • White Card.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience working in the construction industry in a similar role.
  • Experience working on large-scale construction projects or other suitable projects.
  • Good understanding of Quality Specification (Q6) and ISO AS/NZS 9001 requirements.
  • Sound experience and knowledge of construction materials and related specifications.
  • Experience in Microsoft Office Suite and any EMDS.
