About the Role

The University of Melbourne is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Health, Safety and Wellbeing (HSW) Manager to lead our Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology (FEIT) in achieving a culture of excellence in health, safety and wellbeing.

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing effective health, safety and wellbeing strategies, policies and procedures that align with the University's overall goals and objectives.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and managing a high-performing HSW team to ensure the delivery of high-quality health, safety and wellbeing services to the Faculty.
  • Providing strategic oversight and reporting on FEIT's compliance with health, safety and wellbeing regulations and standards.
  • Collaborating with other Faculty teams and leaders to drive a consistent and pragmatic approach to health, safety and wellbeing across the Faculty.

What We're Looking For

We're seeking an experienced and skilled HSW professional with a strong background in developing, managing and monitoring health, safety and wellbeing programs. You will possess a deep understanding of health and safety regulations, standards and best practices, as well as excellent leadership and communication skills.

You will also have:

  • A degree in occupational health and safety or a related field.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience in developing and implementing health, safety and wellbeing policies, procedures and programs.
