About the Role:

The Data Architect will play a key role in designing and establishing Ventia's data frameworks and strategies, reporting to the General Manager of Enterprise Architecture.

This position will be based out of our Melbourne office with hybrid work-from-home arrangements. Applications from other states will also be considered.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop scalable and sustainable data architecture solutions to meet business needs.
  • Establish data standards, policies, and governance best practices.
  • Recommend technologies and tools for data storage, processing, and analytics.
  • Collaborate with engineers, analysts, and stakeholders to align data with business goals.
  • Implement data security and privacy measures to protect information and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Optimize data pipelines and workflows for performance and scalability.
  • Lead data modeling for logical and physical models supporting business processes and analytics.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior team members.

Key Experiences & Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Proven experience as a data architect with a successful track record in complex data projects.
  • Strong knowledge of data modeling (relational, dimensional, NoSQL) and database design.
  • Proficient in SQL, Oracle, MySQL, and SAP.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Data Architect across enterprise architecture.
  • Understanding of TOGAF.
  • Experience developing frameworks and implementing frameworks across enterprises.
