About the Role:

Reporting to the General Manager of Enterprise Architecture, the Data Architect will play a key role in designing and establishing Ventia\u2019s data frameworks and strategies.

This position will be based out of our Cremorne Head Office in Melbourne, with hybrid work-from-home arrangements available. Applications from other states will also be considered.

Key Responsibilities:

\u2022 Develop scalable and sustainable data architecture solutions to meet business needs.
\u2022 Establish data standards, policies, and governance best practices.
\u2022 Recommend technologies and tools for data storage, processing, and analytics.
\u2022 Collaborate with engineers, analysts, and stakeholders to align data with business goals.
\u2022 Implement data security and privacy measures to protect information and ensure regulatory compliance.
\u2022 Optimize data pipelines and workflows for performance and scalability.
\u2022 Lead data modeling for logical and physical models supporting business processes and analytics.
\u2022 Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior team members.

Key Experiences & Skills:

\u2022 Bachelor\u2019s degree in computer science or related field; advanced degree preferred.
\u2022 Proven experience as a data architect with a successful track record in complex data projects.
\u2022 Strong knowledge of data modeling (relational, dimensional, NoSQL) and database design.
\u2022 Proficient in SQL, Oracle, MySQL, and SAP.
\u2022 Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus.
\u2022 5+ years of experience as a Data Architect across enterprise architecture.
\u2022 Understanding of TOGAF.
\u2022 Experience developing frameworks and implementing frameworks across enterprises.
