Marine Life Care Specialist

This role is centered around supporting our curatorial team in delivering exceptional guest experiences at our aquarium. The ideal candidate will be passionate about connecting people with marine life, sustainability, and conservation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain engaging exhibits that showcase the wonders of marine life.
  • Support daily life support checks, diet preparation, and record-keeping to ensure the highest level of animal welfare.
  • Collaborate with the curatorial team to create memorable experiences for our guests.
Requirements:
  1. Previous experience in an animal care role, preferably in a zoo or aquarium setting.
  2. Strong passion for guest experience, education, and connecting people with marine life, sustainability, and conservation.
  3. Excellent observation and record-keeping skills.
  4. Ability to be flexible and work under pressure.
  5. Physical ability to perform tasks such as bending, stooping, squatting, crawling, crouching, kneeling, balancing, climbing heights up to 4m, and lifting up to 20kg.
  6. Current QLD driving license.
Desirable Qualifications:
  • Current First Aid/CPR certification.
  • Tertiary qualifications in animal care.
  • Dive Master qualification (highly regarded).

Regular weekend work is required, especially during peak school and public holiday periods.
