We are seeking a skilled sports editor to join our team and lead the coverage of all notable sporting events.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Managing the paper's sports desk, overseeing the processing of articles provided by reporters.
  • Covering local and international sporting events, and developing new editorial strategies.
  • Writing articles and columns, as well as subediting and layout skills.

A strong interest in sports is essential, from grassroots level to international competitions. Prior experience as an editor, including subediting and layout skills, is also required.

Digital newsroom proficiency and familiarity with Geelong's sporting scene are highly desirable qualifications.

Key Responsibilities
