Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced professional to join our team as a Women's Wellbeing and Trauma Support Specialist. This role combines responsibilities for coordinating community education and advocacy on women's health and sexual assault with providing face-to-face counselling and support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver community education and training programs on women's health and sexual assault.
  • Provide individual and crisis counselling to women and survivors of sexual assault.
  • Facilitate therapeutic groups and other supportive activities.
  • Liaise with other organisations to enhance service delivery and referral pathways.
  • Participate in the 24-hour sexual assault crisis response roster.
  • Coordinate and facilitate community education sessions and training for various sectors.
  • Provide ongoing and crisis counselling and support.
  • Develop and facilitate therapeutic groups for survivors and their supporters.
  • Advocate and liaise with healthcare and social services to improve support and referral pathways.
  • Participate in on-call responses and contribute to the daily service support and professional development.

Selection Criteria:

  • Tertiary qualification in Social Sciences/Social Work or relevant employment history.
  • Minimum three years' experience in homelessness or related fields.
  • Strong ability to develop and deliver community education and training.
  • Demonstrated expertise in crisis counselling and therapeutic group facilitation.
  • Knowledge of feminist analysis and experience working with diverse cultural backgrounds, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women.
  • Current Blue Card and Queensland driving licence.
