Forensic Data Analyst

EY's Forensic Data Analytics practice is a global team that focuses on the full life cycle of data analysis. Our engagements involve working with large datasets from various sources to support investigations, disputes, and proactive risk detection.

The role requires expertise in advanced data analytic tools, statistical techniques, and analytical software such as Alteryx, Python, R, or similar packages. Proficiency in SQL and proficiency in data manipulation languages are essential for this position.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Generate insights to support fraud investigations, disputes, and regulatory compliance challenges using market leading advanced data analytic tools.
  • Develop forensic procedures and define measurable data metrics and design investigative analysis.
  • Extract, validate, transform, and load high-volume structured and unstructured data from multiple data sources.
  • Develop algorithms, data mining, and data analytic solutions to assist clients with detection of fraud, bribery, and corruption; irregular financial transactions; anomalous employee behavior; and totarget error and waste in their operations.
  • Support senior team members in the preparation and presentation of client deliverables, including using a suite of visualisation software to clearly present the benefits of the analysis to clients.
Requirements:
  • Ability to communicate technical information in non-technical language and effectively collaborate with members of cross-functional teams.
  • Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills, and the ability to clearly and concisely present data, conclusions, and recommendations.
  • Proficiency in data manipulation languages such as SQL, and statistical techniques (regression, clustering etc.) and analytical and modelling tools such as Alteryx, Python, R or similar packages.
  • Ability to hypothesise, analyse and draw conclusions from financial and operational data.
