Job Title: Disability Support Professional

The role of a Disability Support Worker is to provide empathetic and comprehensive assistance to individuals with disabilities, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social needs are met.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Personal Care Assistance: Assist clients with personal hygiene tasks, such as bathing, grooming, and toileting. Aid clients with dressing and undressing, ensuring their comfort and dignity.
  • Medication Management: Administer medications according to prescribed schedules and dosage instructions. Monitor and document clients' medication intake and any observed side effects.
  • Daily Living Support: Assist clients with meal preparation, feeding, and dietary needs. Provide support with household tasks such as light cleaning, laundry, and organizing.
  • Emotional and Social Support: Build rapport and trust with clients, fostering positive relationships based on respect and empathy. Provide emotional support and companionship, actively listening to clients' concerns and providing reassurance.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of client care activities, including daily progress notes and incident reports.

This role requires a Cert 3 in Individual Support/Disability or equivalent qualification. Previous experience working with individuals with disabilities or in a similar caregiving role is highly desirable.
