Welding and Coating Inspector

McConnell Dowell is seeking a skilled professional to oversee quality and safety on the Groote Eylandt Wharf Remediation Project in the Northern Territory.
Key Responsibilities:- Ensure the quality and safety of welding and coating activities
- Inspect and assess the strength and quality of completed welds
- Verify that correct equipment and materials are used for welding
- Check welding and coating specifications
- Ensure adherence to safety regulations
- Recommend alternative welding techniques if required
- CSWIP or equivalent certification is required
- Trade or relevant engineering degree is preferred
- Advanced understanding and knowledge of welding and NDT activities are essential
- Excellent technical knowledge of welding and materials is required
- Strong commitment to maintaining a safe working environment is necessary
- Excellent working knowledge of Australian and international standards and codes is required
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively as part of a team are essential
- Experience or willingness to work on a FIFO basis is preferred
