Job Title:

Aboriginal Justice Manager

Job Description:

We are seeking a senior professional to lead the development and delivery of Phase 5 of the Victorian Aboriginal Justice Agreement, defining the strategic direction for the Koori Justice Unit.

The role is fixed term for 18 months. As part of the unit, you will contribute to driving systemic change in the justice system to deliver better outcomes for Aboriginal Victorians.

About the Role:

You will play a key role in delivering departmental priorities, including embedding Aboriginal self-determination and working in genuine partnership with Victorian Aboriginal communities.

You will contribute to departmental decision-making and ensure effective governance and compliance with government strategic direction and policy.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Lead project team to coordinate AJA5 development and implementation.
  • Provide high-quality engagement with the Aboriginal Justice Caucus and other key stakeholders.
  • Provide policy advice to support justice priorities for Aboriginal Victorians.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Excellent knowledge of Aboriginal culture and society.
  • Strong experience working with Aboriginal communities and advisory groups.
  • Knowledge of public policy development and Cabinet processes.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering policy through community partnership.
