Technology Risk Specialist

This role enables technology teams to navigate the risk management framework with confidence and ease.

A permanent position open to all major cities in Australia, ideally Gadigal Country (Sydney), Naarm (Melbourne) and Meanjin (Brisbane).

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Provide first-line risk support across Technology & Operations in line with Group Risk Management Frameworks:
    • Risk profiling and assessments
    • Managing control issues and risk events
    • Overseeing third-party risk governance
    • Enhancing reporting and oversight of critical systems
    • Engaging with executive-level stakeholders on technology risk management matters
    • Contribute to the delivery of the Technology & Operations Risk Culture Plan
    • Support the identification, assessment, and automation of technology controls, including AI
    • Enable technology teams to independently apply the Risk Management Framework through intuitive tools and resources
    • Leverage internal and external data to deliver forward-looking technology risk insights
    • Act as a risk SME on projects, initiatives, remediation, and continuous improvement activities
    • Collaborate with internal SMEs (e.g., Controls Assurance, Cyber & Protective Services, second line risk) to support technology assessments and assurance
    • Mentor and uplift the skills of junior team members
About You
  • Have a solid foundation in technology and/or technology risk, with 5+ years of experience, applying knowledge to complex environments and evolving risk landscapes.
  • Bring a 'can do' mindset and a friendly approach to your work, fostering a collaborative team culture.
  • Confidently engage with stakeholders at all levels, building trust and influencing outcomes through clear communication and credibility.
  • Deliver value to internal and external customers, consistently putting their needs at the heart of your work.
  • Take ownership of responsibilities, committed to delivering high-quality outcomes that make a real difference.
  • Possess high personal drive and enthusiasm.
  • Bring passion and drive to your role, inspiring others and maintaining momentum even in challenging situations.
  • Hold ITIL 4 Foundation Certification and Cobit Foundation certification.

The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills and a deep understanding of technology risk management principles.
