Our organization is seeking a skilled and dedicated Nursing Assistant to join our team in regional Victoria. This role presents an exciting opportunity for individuals who are passionate about delivering high-quality care and support to donors.
- Greet and interview potential donors to assess their eligibility and suitability for donation.
- Create a positive experience for donors by ensuring they feel valued, respected, and appreciated throughout the donation process.
- Conduct routine blood pressure and haemoglobin tests, as well as set up and operate machines and collections equipment.
- Insert and remove needles safely to collect whole blood, plasma, and platelets, adhering to strict safety protocols.
- Monitor donors post-donation and provide support with rebooking their next appointment, fostering a seamless and efficient experience.
- Collaborate with colleagues to achieve collection targets, promoting a culture of teamwork and mutual respect.
No prior experience in blood collection is required, as comprehensive paid training and flexible scheduling are provided to ensure success.
Key Requirements- Be comfortable working with medical equipment and handling biological materials.
- Be willing to travel occasionally to regional areas of Victoria with our mobile unit team, adapting to diverse environments and situations.
- Occasionally lift between 9-22.7kgs, maintaining physical stamina and mobility.
- Support and foster a positive team culture, promoting a collaborative and respectful work environment.
- Frequently stand, walk, and bend to set up and pack down machines and blood products, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
- Be flexible to work varied shifts on a fortnightly rotating roster, including weekends and afternoon shifts, ensuring adequate staffing coverage.
