Senior RPG Developer Position

This key role is responsible for building and supporting applications to provide customers with an optimal motor claims experience. You will be developing and maintaining highly available and reliable APIs that are business-critical.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Development: Design and develop free format RPG code to implement the goals of the sprint and deliver value to our business partners.
  • API Servicing: Contribute to the design and development of our modern API servicing customer data stored in the iSeries database.
  • Product Ownership: Take ownership of the product, contribute improvement and innovation ideas.
  • Cross-Functional Teamwork: Work closely with front-end developers in the cross functional team to provide REST APIs in different interfacing languages.
  • Business Rules Implementation: Enhance and build upon the business rules in an Object Oriented implementation.
  • Testing and Quality Assurance: Contribute to best practice testing across unit, integration and end to end tests.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 5+ Years Proven Commercial Experience: In modern RPG development;
  • Excellent Knowledge: And experience in OOP, free format RPG, embedded DB2 SQL, and modernization of legacy code bases.
  • Strong Skills: In RESTful API design and development, RDi, Aldon, monitoring tools such as New Relic, XML, JSON, Atlassian suite of products: JIRA, Confluence and Bitbucket.
