Job Overview

This is a specialist civil construction and maintenance role where you will operate Flocon and other specialized civil trucks for road maintenance and asphalt works.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate Flocon and other specialized civil trucks for road maintenance and asphalt works, ensuring timely completion of projects and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Prepare and operate trucks and associated plant/equipment, including recording and measuring materials, operating sprays, and applying specialized equipment, maintaining high standards of efficiency and productivity.
  • Conduct daily mechanical and safety checks, routine maintenance, and ensure vehicles and equipment are kept in optimal, safe, and clean condition, minimizing downtime and promoting overall well-being.
  • Perform manual handling and general labouring tasks, including earthworks, concreting, drainage, signage, and traffic control, adhering to relevant health and safety regulations.
  • Accurately complete record-keeping using council mobile devices and applications, providing valuable insights for project planning and improvement.
  • Respond to customer requests and participate in emergency and community event preparations, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.

Specialist Skills & Requirements:

  • Considerable MR driving experience, with a proven track record of safe and efficient operation.
  • Manual handling skills, enabling effective execution of physical demands.
  • Operation of small plant and equipment, promoting versatility and adaptability.
  • Experience in general labouring work, fostering a strong foundation for various roles.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply WHS and EEO principles, upholding a culture of respect and inclusivity.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a crew, emphasizing teamwork and collaboration.
  • OH&S General induction for Construction Induction Training, guaranteeing a solid understanding of industry standards.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Specialized civil truck driving experience, enhancing technical expertise.
  • Traffic Controller Certificate, expanding professional capabilities.
