We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cyber Security Consultant to join our team at McGrathNicol in Canberra. As a key member of our cyber team, you will work closely with our experienced cyber experts, including former CISOs, Defence and Intelligence community senior leadership, national security advisors, and leaders in cyber academia.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the delivery of a range of engagements, including strategy and risk, threat intelligence, and technical advice.
- Conduct security risk assessments, review maturity against frameworks, and assist with incident/data breach response.
- Design and execute strategies and programs to address known gaps or build governance capabilities.
- Establish cyber and privacy risk management programs.
- Prepare detailed written reports, presentations, dashboards, and visualisations.
- Identify appropriate security controls and provide recommendations to enhance and deploy security solutions in complex production environments.
- Hold a degree or similar qualification or demonstrated combination of training, certification, work experience, and technical expertise.
- Developing proficiency and a passion for government cyber security, including the technical aspects of cyber/information security/information governance & privacy.
- Experience assisting with cyber-related projects, such as conducting security risk assessments, reviewing maturity against frameworks, or assisting with incident/data breach response.
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Ambition, drive, and determination.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Fantastic teamwork skills, a strong work ethic, and ability to work under pressure.
- Due to the nature of work, applicants must be Australian citizens and currently hold a security clearance or be eligible to obtain one.
