Are you passionate about working with Indigenous communities? Do you have experience in project management and coordination? We are currently seeking an Assistant Project Officer to join our team at Talent International, working on a 6-month contract with the NSW Government in Parramatta.

Salary: $55/hour + Super

Job Description

We are looking for a highly motivated and organized individual to support our project team in achieving business outcomes and meeting client service needs. The successful candidate will assist in the design, implementation, and coordination of projects, conduct research and analysis to support key projects, and utilize project management methodologies to ensure high-quality outcomes.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Project Support: Provide administrative support to project managers, coordinate meetings, and prepare project-related documents.
  • Research & Analysis: Conduct research and analysis to support the development of key projects and process improvements.
  • Project Management: Utilize project management methodologies to ensure high-quality outcomes and update project documentation.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Prepare standard project-related documents, including status updates, reports, and budgets.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with the project team to complete tasks and achieve agreed outcomes.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective program development, planning, and policy implementation.

Key Challenges:

  • Tight Deadlines: Manage multiple priorities and deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Accurate Reporting: Maintain accurate project-related reports and registers to ensure accountability and data integrity.

Requirements:

  • Aboriginal-Identified Role: This position is for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander candidates under the provisions of the NSW Anti-discrimination Act (1977). Candidates must be of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent, identify as such, and be accepted by their community.
  • Cultural Understanding: Strong understanding of Aboriginal cultural beliefs, socio-economic factors, and their impact on housing, policy development, and Aboriginal land rights.
  • Clearances: National Criminal History Record Check and Working with Children Check clearance.
