Job Overview

HVAC Service Technicians play a vital role in ensuring the maintenance and repair of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. Their primary responsibility is to execute HVAC maintenance and repairs in accordance with company policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Promote and ensure compliance of health, safety, and environmental practices.
  • Execute HVAC maintenance/repairs in accordance with relevant work instructions, manuals, and test specifications.
  • Ensure all work documentation packs are completed in full.
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with internal stakeholders and customer contacts.
  • Contribute to developing a weekly plan and deliver production requirements in conjunction with the Field Service Team Leader and Production Coordinator.
  • Mentor and guide technicians with technical knowledge, workshop processes, and procedures.
  • Conduct meetings such as visual boards, productions, toolboxes, and escalate matters/issues that arise.
  • Ensure all plant, tooling, and equipment are serviced, calibrated, and in good working order in accordance with relevant requirements.
  • Lead by example with continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Take ownership of responsibilities and contribute towards business performance goals, delivery timeframes, and customer satisfaction.

The ideal candidate will have a trade qualification in HVAC and Refrigeration, a full ARCtick refrigerant handling license, and a full C class driver's license. They must also possess attention to detail, ability to work independently and as part of a team, strong communication skills, and good time management skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Understanding of rail industry framework and related technical issues
  • Previous experience completing overhaul, repairs, and testing of rollingstock HVAC equipment installed on passenger or locomotive rollingstock
  • Application of LEAN methodologies in a production environment
