Job Title: Duty Manager - Leisure Operations Assistant

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly organized and proactive individual to join our team as a Duty Manager - Leisure Operations Assistant at the Stawell Sports and Aquatics Centre. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and effective operation of our aquatics and fitness programs, maintaining high standards of service, equipment, and facility cleanliness, and providing an exceptional customer experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure Council's Service Standards are met, customers' requests are handled efficiently in a knowledgeable, confidential, and timely manner.
  • Model Council values and be an integral member of the leisure services team, participating in team projects, process mapping, and review, and proactively responding to customer requests.
  • Assist the Team Leader Stawell Sports and Aquatics Centre to implement the Stawell Sports & Aquatics Centre business plan.
  • Assist the Team Leader Stawell Sports and Aquatics Centre by ensuring the aquatics, stadium, group fitness, and personal training programs run smoothly, cost-efficiently, and within budget.
  • Maintain high standards of customer service and professional conduct to all patrons and user groups.

Requirements:

  • Qualification in Fitness, Recreation, or Sports Management.
  • Pool operators course qualification.
  • Leisure competencies as listed in conditions of employment.
  • Experience working within local Government would be advantageous.
  • Sound administration skills, including booking procedures.

Selection Criteria:

  1. Relevant qualifications and experience as specified above.
  2. Sound knowledge of pool supervision, water safety, water education, first aid, resuscitation, and rescue techniques and public safety requirements.
  3. A knowledge and background in a number of indoor sports and aquatic programs.
  4. Ability to implement the highest standards of public supervision and safety.
  5. Commitment and ability to deliver quality customer service.
  6. Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills.
  7. Ability to work cooperatively and positively as a member of a team.
