Senior Dam Safety Engineer or Independent Consultant

This role requires a senior dam safety engineer or FERC-approved independent consultant with expertise in dam safety and hydropower engineering. The successful candidate will work in multiple locations across the country.
Main Responsibilities:- Perform inspections of dams, hydraulic structures, and conduct risk assessments
- Conduct engineering analyses, evaluations, and designs for hydropower projects
- Lead design of new and/or rehabilitation of hydraulic structures including dams, spillways, gates, outlet works, and water conveyance structures
- Apply critical thinking and creativity to address unique engineering challenges
- Prepare contract documents including drawings, specifications, design documentation, and cost estimates
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural, Geotechnical Engineering (or related engineering degree)
- Minimum 10 years of relevant professional experience
- Experience with dams, water conveyances, and other constructed project works regulated by FERC or other agencies
