Survey Technician Job Description

Exact Contracting is seeking a skilled Survey Technician to contribute to our long-term water infrastructure upgrade project in the Northern Territory.

This role will involve working in remote locations, often in challenging environmental conditions, and requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

The successful candidate will have a relevant Surveying qualification and experience working in a similar position within the Civil or Mining industry.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Interpreting plans and marking out projects
  • Converting designs for use on survey rover and machine control
  • Working with machine control to optimize precision and time frame
  • Performing periodic surveys to check levels for conformance reporting and project tracking
  • Undertaking as-built surveys for project sign off and quantity verification
  • Providing timely and accurate surveys for end of month reporting
  • Producing clear and concise technical reports
  • Collecting, interpreting, and analyzing survey information as required
  • Project administration as required

The ideal candidate will have proficiency in a range of relevant programs and software, including AutoCad 3D Civil and Surpac, and experience with GPS, Trimble Total Station, and Trimble machine guidance.
