Job Title: Senior Dairy Cattle Stockperson

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Dairy Cattle Stockperson to join our client's production team in Roger River, TAS 7330.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and coordinate all aspects of milk production, including milking shed routines and reproductive programs.
  • Implement calving procedures, including internal assessments to minimize stillbirths or injuries to cows or calves.
  • Develop and manage pastures and crops for livestock production and create livestock feeding plans.
  • Supervise animal health programs, handle sick or injured animals, and maintain an optimal environment for livestock wellbeing.
  • Operate milking plant and equipment, including reading and recording instrument information and matching cow ID to calves.
  • Assist with and/or perform irrigation works, inspect livestock to gauge feed formula effectiveness, and transport, handle, and store chemicals.
  • Perform maintenance works on sheds, fixtures, and fittings, fences, and surrounds, and install new or replacement equipment or fittings.
  • Maintain records for stock and inventory control, ensure food safety regulatory requirements are met, and contribute to and implement OHS requirements.
Requirements:
  • AQF Certificate III in Agriculture/Dairy Production (or higher equivalent)
  • Three (3) years of recent and relevant work experience
