Family Support Specialist Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Family Support Specialist to join our team in Brisbane. As a key member of our Secondary Family Support team, you will play a vital role in delivering our vision of a better world for children.

About the Role

This part-time (9 day fortnight), maximum term role (through to end of December 2024, with potential for extension) offers the opportunity to work with families and children, providing Case Management services to achieve positive and sustainable long-term change.

Key Responsibilities
  • Use a Case Management Framework to address barriers families may face in housing, parenting capacity, community supports, education, and child development.
  • Develop rapport and positive working relationships with family members, adhering to our practice frameworks, including our Cultural Framework and Child iview and Child Protection Practice Framework.
  • Employ a strengths-based, trauma-informed, and child-centered approach to develop case management goals and support families to work towards these goals, making referrals to other services as needed.

Requirements
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or another relevant Human Services Degree, or significant equivalent experience.
  • Experience working with families, children, and young people.
  • Experience providing case management to people of diverse backgrounds, including children and young people.
  • Current Working with Children Check (Blue Card).
  • Current Driver's Licence.
